Food and Beverage Manager

We are looking for a Food & Beverage Manager to join our team and take on everything F&B! Reporting to the Entertainment Programming Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects in relation to the food and beverage program. 

 

The successful candidate will assist in the forecasting, planning and management of all F&B orders, staffing and finance. This includes our grab and go facility, roving carts, pre-ordered activities, and private events.

 

This will be an active role. Not only in the sense that you will be active in the day to day operations of the Lemont Quarries Adventure Park, but also that you will be handling tasks as they occur in the park.  This position is responsible for ensuring the highest level of service, maintaining a clean and safe environment while meeting all financial goals.

This is a full-time position.
 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Food & Beverage Manager will assist in the development, implementation, and continual evaluation of the food and beverage program. Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Manage all F&B operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards

  • Preserve excellent levels of internal and external customer service

  • Assist in the design of exceptional F&B menu offerings and pricing

  • Purchase goods and continuously make necessary improvements

  • Identify customers needs and respond proactively to their concerns

  • Assist in the recruitment and training of staff

  • Assist in the establishment of KPI’s, schedules, policies and procedures

  • Assist in compliance of all health and safety regulations - state & federal 

  • Maintain and distribute weekly schedules for staff

  • Interview and hire staff (temporary, part-time)

  • Ensure proper preparation and presentation of all F&B offerings

  • Evaluate and supervise employee performances, carry out disciplinary action as needed

  • Conduct monthly beverage inventory and weekly food inventory

  • Control costs of all food and beverage outlets by assisting in effective profit and loss controls

  • Monitor labor costs following demand patterns and local labor laws

  • Maximize F&B sales by identifying key items and “upsell” opportunities

  • Assist in all safety, sanitation, food storage, and alcohol beverage control policies

  • Maintain consistency of service in preparation of park events and private events 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 2-3 years experience as a Food & Beverage Manager, preferably in a park/club/golf industry

  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations and best practices

  • Bachelor's degree related to hospitality, food service management, or a related field

  • Super-freakin-awesome communication skills. Seriously, you must possess the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

  • Well-versed in modern computing platforms and proficient in using Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and restaurant management softwares

  • Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets

  • Availability to work on nights and weekends

  • Ability to prioritize, anticipate situations, and take quick action

 

PHYSICAL AND SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

In this position, you must be available to work a full-time schedule with overtime and weekend hours as needed. You must be ready to work upwards of 50 hours per week during the peak season.  Additionally:

  • Because our park is located in a natural, outdoor, wooded location, candidates must be comfortable and willing to work in all seasonal outdoor weather conditions as operational and management duties may require

  • You must be comfortable and willing to climb as necessary

  • You need to be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds

  • If you don't already have them, you will need to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification
