Human Resources Coordinator

Are you an amazing Human Resources professional, with a keen sense of pride in your position and focus on making outdoor jobs awesome? We are looking for an up-and-coming Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to join us and take on everything HR!

 

You will lead our organization’s HR needs and help create an inclusive, safe, and super stoked enjoinment for all of our employees. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects in relation to Human Resources programming, policy, and execution.  This will be an active role. Not only in the sense that you will be active in the day to day operations of the Lemont Quarries Adventure Park, but also that you will be handling tasks as they occur in the field, which could be on our 12 story ropes course, or along our Mountain Bike Pump Track. 

 

The ideal candidate is someone who will stand up for all employees, take pride in their workplace, and is empowered by their knowledge of Federal, State, and Local employment laws and regulations. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with youth in a dynamic cultural environment. 

 

This is a full-time position

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The HR Coordinator develops, implements, and continually evaluates the HR policies and employee handbook to reflect short- and long-term goals that support the mission of Lemont Quarries Adventure Park. Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Overseeing the administration of Human Resources duties

  • Developing and performing onboarding tasks alongside the management team

  • Creating and implementing staff reward and incentive programs

  • Conflict resolution

  • Disciplinary action

  • Developing a departmental budget alongside the management team

  • Performs office management duties including, outgoing and incoming mail, and office supply inventory

  • Developing an employee handbook alongside the management team

  • Interviewing and hiring staff (temporary, part-time, full-time)

  • Answering employee requests and questions

  • Update and keep employee records in accordance with appropriate regulations

  • Administering various employee benefits programs and payroll along with other key staff members using HR Software alongside the management team

  • Create and submit reports to management

  • Formulating employment policies, process, and practices alongside the management team

  • Distilling employee feedback consistently to effect appropriate changes to the workplace

  • Provide a safe and inclusive space for all employees to work in the most awesome environment possible.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Experience as an HR coordinator

  • In-depth knowledge of human resources operations and best practices

  • Experience with HR Software and Payroll Processing Systems

  • Education related to Business Administration and/ or Human Resources

  • Super-freakin-awesome communication skills. Seriously, you must possess the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to easily adapt to changing needs and requirements

  • You need to be well-versed in modern computing platforms and be proficient in using Google Suite and Microsoft Office

  • Availability to work on nights and weekends as occasion requires


 

PHYSICAL AND SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

In this position, you must be available to work a full-time schedule with overtime and weekend hours as needed. You must be ready to work upwards of 50 hours per week during the peak season.  Additionally:

  • Because our park is located in a natural, outdoor, wooded location, candidates must be comfortable and willing to work in all seasonal outdoor weather conditions as operational and management duties may require

  • You must be comfortable and willing to climb as necessary

  • You need to be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds

  • If you don't already have them, you will need to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification
